ESPERANCE residents are rallying to support Jaimen Hudson, a young man who was left with severe spinal injuries after crashing his motorbike in the Wylie Bay sand dunes.
The Esperance Motorcycle Club has set up a bank account for Jaimen, who is currently in the Shenton Park Rehabilitation Centre.
President Nigel Ratcliffe said the club is committed to helping Jaimen in any way possible.
“Jaimen was a very well liked member of the club, very well respected, and obviously he’s been involved in a tragic accident and the club was looking for a way to help him out,” Mr Ratcliffe said.
“We were thinking of ways to fundraise, as was Judy Nolan, and we decided that setting up a bank account would be a good way to go about it.
“You can make a donation by going into the National Australia Bank, they know all the details there, and all that money will go straight to Jaimen.”
The Esperance Motorcycle Club will also be holding a fundraising event for Jaimen on October 4.
“We will be having an auction, and a few local businesses have already donated some items, but anyone who wants to help out or contribute in any way is certainly more than welcome to contact me.
“Obviously a spinal injury changes your life, and he was such a good club member that we really feel a need to support him as much as we can.”
Anyone interested in obtaining more information or making a donation can either make a donation to the Jaimen Hudson Trust Fund at the National Australia Bank or call Mr Ratcliffe on 0428 711 713.
